Bringing together
Earth's visionaries.

Not just awareness.

Environment Plus is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that assembles a global network of youth to address massive environmental problems through diverse solutions. We seek to leverage everyone’s talents by collaborating with more members of our community, from the artists to coders with projects at the intersection of the environment plus another discipline.

We are a youth-led organization providing resources, mentorship, and training for environmentalists across the world. The efforts of young advocates are often very decentralized and we seek to connect the isolated initiatives across the world to create a global movement. Together, we are advocating for improved environmental education, legislative reform, and social change.

Environment +
Each Environment Plus chapter is centered around movements, month-long to year-long projects. Each movement might entail something different—some chapters choose to organize rallies or demonstrations, others host educational programmes for youth. It largely depends on the needs of your region of what talents your chapter has.

Meet the team.

Claire Hu
Co-Executive

Currently tackling: Environmental Literacy

At Environment Plus, Claire is the community-builder, bringing together students across cultural, age, (and sometimes time zone!) barriers to work on projects that make a splash. She’s most passionate about environmental literacy and self-published a book titled, “A Graphical Guide to the Environment”. She hopes to continue writing & illustrating books that address environmental issues & work on legislative reform. In her free time, you’ll find her dancing or playing Settler's of Catan.

Katherine Hu
Co-Executive

Currently tackling: Microplastics

Katherine founded Environment Plus because she fervently believes in the power of connecting insular environmental chapters across the nation. She's excited by the intersection of environment+tech and is working on an Augmented Reality app to educate viewers on microplastics. She also keeps herself busy with running the largest Hack Club in the nation, organizing milestone events, and educating students about the environment. She can be found catching butterflies (as seen above!) and is always open to chatting — environment or anything else!

Naomie Gao
Outreach

Currently tackling: Electronic Waste

Naomie Gao is a high school senior and strong advocate for environmental action. She believes students will be the ones to bring change, and that Environment Plus will be a crucial part in achieving that, which is why she co-founded it. At Environment Plus, she guides chapters in establishment, is co-developing an educational Augmented Reality app, and works to implement environmental education in schools. She also teaches kids piano and runs another non-profit that coaches kids in swimming, and enjoys colored pencil illustrating, swimming, and self-learning French.
